Fundraising and development professionals are among Jewish camp’s most important storytellers - helping donors, alumni, parents, and other stakeholders understand what happens at camp and why it matters. With generous support from the Maimonides Fund, the first cohort of FJC's Jewish Learning & Leadership Masterclass brings these professionals together for a group experience that integrates meaningful Jewish learning with professional growth.

Beginning with an in-person gathering following FJC’s 2027 Leaders Assembly and continuing through three virtual learning sessions, participants will explore their own Jewish stories, connect them to the broader Jewish narrative, and consider how Jewish wisdom and learning can strengthen the stories they tell about their camps. Along the way, participants will deepen their understanding of themselves as Jewish leaders and build their capacity to communicate what their camps do and why it matters to their communities and to the Jewish future.

Important Dates:

  • In-person Kick-off: January 13, 2027 - 12:30-4PM EST (Lunch provided)
  • Zoom Session 1: Wednesday, February 3 - 1-2:30PM EST
  • Zoom Session 2: Wednesday, February 24 - 1-2:30PM EST
  • Zoom Session 3: Wednesday, March 24 - 1-2:30PM EST

Eligible candidates:

The Masterclass is designed for Jewish camp professionals working in fundraising and development roles. This is not an introductory fundraising training program.

Participants should:

  • work in a fundraising or development role in the Jewish camp field
  • enjoy personal reflection and Jewish learning
  • want to strengthen how they tell their camp’s story and Jewish purpose
  • value curiosity when learning in a pluralistic cohort of peers
  • engage fully in the in-person kick-off intensive and three virtual sessions
There is no cost to participate in this program. If travel to Baltimore for the Kick-off is a barrier, or if you have any other questions, please reach out to Rabbi Avi Orlow, Scholar-in-Residence, at avi@jewishcamp.org
