Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) Application

Completed applications are due by Friday, October 23rd.

About Executive Leadership Institute (ELI)

The Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) is a 20-month fellowship for experienced senior leaders of Jewish camps who are ready to lead with greater vision, purpose, and impact. Recognizing the increasingly complex challenges facing today’s Jewish camps, ELI combines executive skill development, Jewish thought leadership, executive coaching, and a trusted network of peers. Through five immersive seminars, 30 to 40 hours of asynchronous coursework culminating in an executive leadership certificate from Cornell University, individualized executive coaching, a customized 360-degree leadership assessment, summer site visits, and a capstone project supported by a $10,000 implementation grant, ELI helps participants strengthen their identities as visionary Jewish leaders, sharpen their executive leadership skills, and create meaningful organizational and field-wide impact.

Eligible candidates:

At FJC, we value diversity and equal opportunity. We are committed to building a cohort that represents a variety of backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and leadership styles because our field is stronger when it reflects the richness of our community.

ELI is designed for senior executive leaders, including Executive Directors and Camp Directors, serving at FJC-affiliated Jewish camps.

Participants should:

  • Serve in a senior executive leadership role, such as Executive Director or Camp Director, within an FJC-affiliated Jewish camp.
  • Have at least 10 years of professional experience and a minimum of two summers in their current executive leadership position.
  • Hold significant responsibility for organizational strategy, culture, operations, and performance.
  • Work closely with a governing board or other lay leadership.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, curiosity, and openness to continued personal and professional growth.
  • Be committed to active participation in a cohort-based learning experience.
  • Have the support of both their professional and lay leadership to participate fully and apply their learning.

Before completing this application, please thoroughly review all program information on the Executive Leadership Institute webpage with your professional and lay leadership. Please confirm that you are available for all required program dates and that your camp is prepared to fulfill the program commitments, including the $2,000 program fee, support for your attendance and capstone project, identification of a lay leadership partner, and participation in the Camper Satisfaction Insight and Staff Satisfaction Insight surveys during summers 2027 and 2028. If you have any questions, please contact Jenni at jenni@jewishcamp.org.
